Parenting has an impact on children throughout their lives, and should be valued and supported.
The safety and well-being of children is paramount.
All families should be valued equally; regardless of structure or background.
Support services for families should be accessible and open to all.
Parents and young people are entitled to talk, in confidence, about private issues.
Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and not to be judged.
Everyone has the right to expect organisations they are involved with to be open, honest, accountable, and to demonstrate integrity and transparency.
Children, young people and parents have rights and responsibilities that must be promoted and protected.
