Accessibility Statement
This website has been designed to be accessible and usable for all visitors. The site has been coded to strict standards to ensure that it operates across multiple platforms and browsers, to enable all users to access content, regardless of any personal disability.
All publicly accessible pages on this site should conform to level Double-A of the W3C's "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0".
It is our intention to provide the widest possible access to this website. Should you experience any difficulties using the site, we would like to hear about them, so that they can be rectified. Please email sharon@pachelp.org with details of the problem, the name and version of the browser you are using and, if possible, details of the operating system and screen settings you are using.
This policy only applies to web pages on our website (www.parentsadvicecentre.org). Other websites - reached by links from our site - may not meet the same accessibility standards.
Text Size
All pages on this site use relative font sizes, enabling you to control the text size using your web browser. To increase or decrease the text size in common web browsers ...
- Internet Explorer: Go to View > Text Size
- Firefox: Go to View > Text Size
- Netscape: Go to View > Text Zoom
- Opera: Go to View > Zoom.
Standards Compliance
We have endeavoured to ensure that:
- All web pages on this site comply with all Priority 1 and 2 checkpoints, as well as most of the Priority 3 checkpoints, of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (Double-A compliance)
- All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional
- All stylesheets used validate as CSS2
- All pages on this site use structured semantic markup, e.g. h1 tags for main page headings, h2 tags for sub-headings, and so on.
If you find any pages which do not conform to these guidelines, please email us.
Browser Compatibility
This site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual layout and presentation. The site is best viewed in a 'standards compliant' web browser with proper stylesheet support, such as a recent version of Internet Explorer (5.5+), Netscape, Opera or Firefox.
If you are using a browser which does not support style sheets (such as a PDA or text-only browser), or an older browser with poor stylesheet support (such as Netscape 4), the content of each page should still be fully accessible, but will be presented in plain-text format.
For users with mobility impairments, it is important to update your Adobe Flash Player to at least Flash Player 7. Earlier versions of Flash Player may prevent users from tabbing between the navigation bar and links elsewhere on the page. You can download the latest version Flash Player now.
