Model of Working
Parents Advice Centre's (PAC) Parenting Project is committed to promoting positive parenting through education programmes and the dissemination of information.
The work of the Parenting Project is continually evaluated to ensure that our courses are of a high standard and quality.
One of the key principles underpinning the Parenting Project's work, is the importance of the empowerment of parents and professionals working in the field of family work, through increased knowledge, skills, understanding, and awareness. |

Confidence-building parenting courses, which address children’s developmental needs, can be the catalyst for a parent’s self-directed change.
The Parenting Project uses a Person-Centred Approach to those that we work alongside. This is based upon equality within this relationship, and the belief that group members can maximise their potential in a climate of respect, non-judgemental acceptance and congruence. If group members can feel accepted in this way, it becomes easier for them to look at their own attitudes, beliefs, feelings and behaviours.
Quotes from parents who attended PAC parenting courses:
What did you enjoy / get from the course ...
"Discovering that my child’s development is normal and everyone is experiencing the same things as me".
"Feeling like I am not the only person in the world who cannot cope. I enjoyed sharing experiences with everyone in the group".
"Learning that I’m not the only one who explodes at little things".
"It was enjoyable and fun learning things that you didn’t know".
"I was grateful that there was such a course on offer. Every little bit of information on making me a better parent is most appreciated".
