Introduction to Volunteering
Parents Helpline has opportunities for volunteers in 2 centres in Northern Ireland - a South & East branch based in Belfast and a North & West branch based in Derry. Parents Helpline Volunteers are usually trained and based in the branch most convenient to them.
Volunteering with Parents Helpline is rewarding and challenging. Parents Helpline Volunteers are offered the opportunity to:
- develop knowledge and skills which enhance their personal, family and professional life
- have their learning and development recognised through accreditation
- undertake varied and challenging work with a wide range of clients, in a well-structured and supported work environment
- enjoy social activities and develop friendships
- use their own professional / personal experience to help parents and to safeguard children
“I find volunteering for Parents Helpline immensely rewarding. I not only get a sense of personal satisfaction from helping others, but feel appreciated and a valuable member of the Helpline team”
